Big Time Gaming Casinos

Big Time Gaming announced itself on the online casino software scene in 2011.

While the company was initially in the business of making subsidiary games for many of the larger software providers, such as Microgaming’s Quickfire platform, it would not be long before things changed. In fact, it wouldn’t take long before the outfit earned itself some attention for their products.

The company has made a name for themselves in recent times, and have been aiming to join the big players in the industry. Known for their slots more than any other casino game, the Australian outfit has been branded everything from pioneering to innovative with their slots and games offerings so far.

This should come as no surprise: Big Time Gaming was the brainchild of three experienced minds of the industry, boasting close to 30 years of combined experience to their name.

While not too famous for their incredible graphics, given that they are stronger in other departments, their overall design and audio properties are what many like about this company. These days, it is their ‘MegaWays‘, ‘Unlimited Multiplier‘, ‘Dualreaction‘ and ‘Feature Drop‘ features which are the most exciting aspects of their design. There is more on the way, too, which keeps their reputation for pushing the envelope strong.

Big Time Gaming Slots & Games

When it comes to this company’s games, there is a certain individualism which Big Time Gaming can boast. They do fashion themselves as a company which does things its own way, and this can come with its own pros and cons.

To date, BTG has produced a nice number of slots, scratchcard style games known as TapCards and at least two ‘Reactors‘ – which is also a type of slot – and some table games. While some may say that this indicative of quality over quantity, this may be the case. Otherwise, it might have something to do with their relatively short time producing such games.

However, there are some big hits under their belt. For example, games like Danger High Voltage, White Rabbit, Queen of Riches and Dragon Born are well-regarded and known for their high variance, all-action styles. These games are eye-catching and exemplify how good this company is at producing the goods for eager slots enthusiasts.

In terms of criticism, some of their subsidiary releases are not going to bowl everyone over. For example, the ‘Temple Quest – Spinfinity‘  title, which is effectively little more than an HTML5 rebrand of Temple Quest – is not going to be a classic worth discussing in great detail.

BTG has rarely produced anything other than a top-notch game, however, and there is a lot about this company which would stand out for any fan. The best part is that they have a lot of time ahead of them to catch up with the big players in the industry.

We did mention that their games are known for their high volatility. This means that there is a certain way in which you should approach them. In other words, they are not designed to be played for long periods of time as can eat through your bankroll very quickly if you do not strike it lucky.

Nevertheless, there are some excellent games which have found their way into the online casino realm from the minds of the people over at Big Time Gaming. As it stands, some of their best known and widely regarded games are:

  • Bonanza Danger
  • High Voltage
  • White Rabbit
  • Dragon
  • Born
  • Queen of Riches
  • StarQuest
  • Viking Quest
  • Temple Quest
  • Lucky Streak Gold

Criticisms

No developer is perfect as it is just not the way things go. Big Time Gaming has been accused of some shady activity in the past, even if it bordered on the milder side of it. In 2016, the company was allegedly accused of posting big win screenshots in the forums and pages of gambling sites, alongside promoting games from the Big Time Gaming banner.

There was one instance where a particular account was frequently posting screenshots to enter a Screenshot Contest which was being run by a member of Big Time Gaming for the purpose of awarding a prize. It came out that the player posting the screenshots and the representative had been using the same IP address, which was a coincidence. Well, not so much a coincidence but practically proof that there was something going on which would not inspire trust at all.

In the end, the company had said that this was an error on the part of a junior employee that had made a few minor errors in judgement. The matter quickly blew over and that was that.

How Big Time Gaming Stand Out?

As we mentioned above, the company’s games are pretty well designed and come with their own interesting themes. The games boast some nice colours, great sounds, and are very unique when compared to other companies’ offerings.

Another thing the company does well is to promote inclusivity and provide most of its games in a number of different languages. For example, players can play in English, Spanish, Chinese, Russian and Japanese.

Unfortunately, there is still some work to do before this ambitious company can truly mark themselves out as one of the best in the business. They need to produce more games, for a start. The ones which they have produced are often criticised for their exceptional high variance, which can be something which many slots enthusiasts don’t respond to positively all the time.

Conclusion

Big Time Gaming stands out for its commitment to producing unique games. For this alone, they have worked their way into popularity. There are many players who enjoy the interesting twists and turns which their games offer. It is hard to argue with their ambition in this regard.

However, there is simply a lot left to be desired with some of their titles. The company will need to make a bigger impression with their next series of games, in order to show that they are consistent and to live up to the tag of being a truly innovative software developer.
